Inspiration and insights for building YOUR magnetic Brand!

How to become IRRESISTIBLE for your clients

Learning from the big brands

Have you ever wondered what makes potential clients become paying clients? It sometimes happens just overnight, other times in a split second. But it can also take much, much longer.

If you read marketing books, you know probably that there must be some kind of chemistry happening between the two parties.

It is a fascinating phenomenon, a real magic!

When does this Magic happen?? Is it possible to make it happen?? How can we make it happen?

Because the magic must happen, if you are in business.

The main goal of all ads is to appeal to us in the first place. That’s the beginning of the magic! Just think for a moment – we pay little to no attention at all to things that are not appealing to us. Forget about buying them.

I came across a stunning advertisement last year on a long oversees flight. It was in their glossy magazine, and there was an image of a very handsome young man wearing a dark blue suit placed on a full page.

If you want to be successful – buy BRANDS

The perceived value of a brand

Are you in for a quick proof on what the right clothes can do for us?

Sometime ago I came across a very interesting article. It showed how we react on people, based on their outfits only!!

If you want to be successful buy brands!

Simple, isn’t it?!

Two researchers from the University of Maastricht (The Netherlands) and the University of Hasselt (Belgium), spent several yeard observing the effect of popular brands on our social behavior. They did a test with two charity teams. One of the teams was dressed in brand clothing, the other team was dressed in just plain, no special brands clothes.

Can you guess what the outcome was? Yes, the charity team wearing the popular brands collected much more money than the other team!

Right.

But why?

How to sell to anyone

Two business lessons from a 12-year-old

I was invited to a school fare towards the end of last school year. They were raising money for a charity.

It was a hot day, at noon time. The booths were outside, nicely styled, and excited kids and proud parents were buzzing around.

“Would you like a glass of cold water?”, a 12-year-old boy approached me with a big smile and a glass in each hand.

And whether you said “yes, please” or “no, thank you”, his next question was “And would you like to buy something?”, proudly pointing at his table, and adding quickly “we are raising money for a  school charity project”.

A school charity project? Yes, tell me more about it young man!

How to make clients want YOU

(Like they want McD)

My youngest son knew what McDonalds was at the age of 2 already, and especially where to find it. That would happen while driving and all of the sudden he would shout loudly with excitement ‘The EARS!!!’ by seeing the yellow arches rise above the trees at a far distance.

We would all laugh at his funny wording.

But this is a very good example of how a Brand works. It captures the attention and it makes you want it. Instantly.

It isn’t a secret that big companies invest millions and millions of dollars to build their brand identity and appeal to us, their customers, so we buy their products.

Why? Because this is the only way to do business! To have a strong brand identity.

How do big Brands do that?

Start with the END in mind

Yes, exactly like Stephen Covey says in his book

The book ‘The 7 habits of highly successful people’ by Stephen Covey has been sitting on my shelf for at least five years now. Although I knew that many swear by that book I never took the time to read it. Till about a year abo. Now it is one of my fav books, and… the wind of change is blowing ever since I read it.

One of the things that really hit me was Covey’s statement to ‘Start with the end in mind!’. The more I think about it the more I find it fascinating. This is a life-changing lesson, applicable to all aspects of your life – your relationship with your kids, your business, your own personal development.

If you can clearly see what the desired end of something is, you will be able to take the best decisions, from the very beginning, without going astray every time something new pops up in front of you or in your mind. You will be able to stay focused despite disappointments, criticism or difficult times.

Since I have decided on what kind of company I want in the end, decision-making has become a lot more easier.

Or go for that crazy idea of mine which I got in the summer of 2014 – to design a special bag collection! At first I was afraid that the bags wouldn’t really fit my brand, but after ‘beginning with the end in mind’ I was convinced that I had to do it. The bags fit perfectly! There are not many Personal Branding experts out there who also have their own bag collection, right.
